Danny Echo is our third collaboration with American playwright, Cody Daigle-Orians, and follows the success of 18 Victoria and In The Bones. We love Cody’s plays - which we ‘translate’ so they have a North of England setting - because they have strong roles for older women and respect a variety of representations of family and relationships. This is our focus in Root & Branch.

At the centre of Danny Echo is the story of Rae’s grief, after her husband tragically dies. But along the way it asks questions about the ethics of technology and the fundamentals of what it means to be human.
